Gay
Buffet.

“Sort of like if Carrie Bradshaw were a gay man with access to Substack.”

That is how Aidan describes it. He is not entirely wrong.

Editorial portrait of Aidan Wharton in a black shirt against a deep black backdrop.

Gay Buffet is a weekly column on queer culture and queer life, written in the same voice Aidan uses with his closest friends. It covers sex the way we actually have it. It covers open relationships the way they actually work. It covers self-improvement without the gurus. It covers a marriage, a friendship, a Saturday night in Brooklyn, a fight with someone you love.

It is written for the gay men who read it on Sunday mornings with coffee, and for everyone else who has wandered in and stayed. It is a conversation, not a lecture. Aidan answers comments. He writes back.

The column is published every Sunday. It is free. There is a paid tier on Substack for the people who want to support the work. The point, always, is the column.

When Aidan is asked which piece sounds most like him, this is the one he picks. A short, joyful, unfiltered argument for being gay on purpose.
